Summer Fun: Create Your Own Activity Jars

activity_jar-impKeep the kids busy this summer and avoid the “I’m bored” chorus by creating your own Activity Jar.

Give the kids as many small pieces of colourful paper as they need and on each one have them write an activity that they like to do.

To fill up your whole summer with lots of idea’s, you can create an “At Home” Activity Jar with all things they can do on their own or with friends at home, and a “Day Trip” Activity Jar that requires the family to pack a healthy lunch and set off on an adventure together.

Items in the jar can be as simple as skipping or as complicated as going to the Zoo and seeing a polar bear up close. If you can, dedicate a bin to hold all kids of inexpensive toys that will inspire outdoor play such as skipping ropes, chalk and different size balls.

Here are a few ideas to get you started.  Have more? Would love to hear your ideas in the comments below and I will update the list so we can all inspire kids to get outside and be active.

Lets help all of our kids stay active and having fun outdoors this summer!
